Fish

Why which fish you buy matters.

52% of commercial fish species are being fished at the limit of their reproductive capacity, while 25% are overexploited, depleted or recovering from depletion According to the U.N.'s Food and Agriculture Organization.

Some fish such as cod and tuna are among those in danger of being fished out of commercial existence. Medical advice is telling us to eat certain kinds of fish regularly to prevent heart disease.  Varieties such as tilapia, carp and trout are generally sustainable. For a comprehensive list of fish to avoid eating and those you can eat go to The Marine Conservation’s Society website  www.fishonline.org/advice/eat

You can also download a pocket good fish guide to keep with you when you are shopping.
