Packaging

Reducing packaging means less going into land fill. This section gives you tips with regards to Milk, refills, mail preference service and plastic bag usage.

Milk delivery

Milk delivery – buy your milk in reusable glass bottles – you win two ways. One on convenience having it delivered to your door and two all the plastic bottles diverted from landfill. Mr Stephenson (my milk man!) delivers milk including organic. Tel: 01423 566459

Refill

Refill – you can refill your Ecover cleaning products at The Green House, 5 Station Parade, Harrogate Tel: 01423 502580 or at the Organic Pantry, near Tadcaster Tel: 01937 531693

Mailing Preference Service

Mailing Preference Scheme – stops unwanted post www.mpsonline.org.uk and a facsimile preference service allows you to stop unwanted sales and marketing faxes www.fpsonline.org.uk

Plastic Bags

Plastic bags nearly all disposable plastic bags end up in landfill or make their way into our oceans and waterways.  Only one in 200 is recycled, the rest take up to 1,000 years to degrade. According to recent studies, the oceans are full of tiny fragments of plastic that are beginning to work their way up the food chain.

The solution is to reuse your bag or buy a stronger, reuseable bag like an Onya Bag, which can be bought by visiting our website www.thegoodearthcompany.com or see order form on page 4.
